Since 1982, Cycom has been providing comprehensive, end-to-end IT solutions to vertical healthcare markets, as well as commercial and industrial clients throughout Canada and North America.

Brief results of the collaboration:

  • Having analyzed Cycom’s specific business processes and requirements, HADII consultants provided recommendations for streamlining operations and attracting new customers through the incorporation of digital technology, of which the development of an e-commerce platform was an essential component.

  • After having recommended VarStreet as the technology provider for the e-commerce platform, HADII managed the entire development project from beginning to end, ensuring a successful outcome.

The Need

As Cycom’s core business portfolio expanded to provide end-to-end IT healthcare and AV solutions, their e-commerce business expanded as well. However, the lack of a proper e-commerce software platform resulted in a number of challenges:

  1. Tedious Manual Processes - A significant amount of time was spent in managing B2B ecommerce activities including inventory management, product fulfillment, marketing operations, competitor monitoring, price adjustments and more.

  2. Customer Support - Most customers are large organizations that have established software tools and processes in place to purchase equipment. Without a software based platform, interfacing with such organizations was challenging.

The Challenge

There were two unique requirements that played the greatest role in HADII’s determined solution. First, the solution needed to interface with and dynamically load prices from a select group of vendors on a daily basis. Secondly, the platform needed to support punchout catalogues in order to enable B2B e-commerce with Cycom’s core customers. Not only is there a lack of support for the punchout specification amongst popular commercial ecommerce platforms, the technology itself is difficult to implement and test.

The Solution

Once an analysis was completed for a number of potential solutions and a recommendation was made, Cycom decided to move forward with VarStreet as the technology of choice to power their e-commerce platform.

HADII managed the project from start to end and interfaced with Cycom and VarStreet to ensure the project was successful. The incorporation of this new digital technology enabled Cycom to streamline their e-commerce operations and expand their customer base through their recently aquired B2B e-commerce capabillities.
